i was taught to stick weld in high school shop class in 1975, and we had a 220 amp "tombstone" in the garage. i bought my O/A outfit in 1983 when i did some cab work on a 1970 K10 chevy pickup, 4WD, 325hp 327. i started MIG in 1998 when i built a small front end loader and backhoe for my tractor, and then took up TIG a few years ago 2016 just for fun.
i weld mostly on projects when they come up. i don't weld every day so i'm usually pretty rusty when i start something but it comes back to me fairly quickly for a 60 year old guy.
