    Welding on automobile

So long as you place your physical ground as close to the to be welded part as possible, the chance of stray current being developed is very minimal at best. I never disconnect the ECM and never have had an issue.

    INE brand wire has disappeared

That is interesting and I checked and nothing on Amascon. I use their solid wire in 025 and o30 diameter, all I use actually. For me, it has the best wet out and lowest spatter of any wire I've even burned and normally, I'll buy 4 10 pound spools at a crack. Having said that, I see that INE...

Looking for some feedback from the pros:

Go buy yourself something with a duty cycle and output amps. That thing is a joke.

    small "oriental" wire welder

As like everything else in life, buying cheap only gets you cheap. If you must have a China made welder, get it from Harbor Freight as it has a guarantee and return is as near as your local store whereas buying cheap online will have no guarantee and it it dies, returning it will be an exercise...

Hard to see the welding puddle,

Get yourself a newer auto dark hood that has grind mode built in as well as automatic shade darkening. Not expensive today and most now have a much larger viewing screen as well. Just bought a Hobart at Tractor Supply on sale with everything for under 100 bucks. They are on Amascon as well...

    Violent Arc

When I use SMAW which isn't often, I keep a toaster oven in the shop and I dry the rod put in it. After it's dry I'll put it in a plastic rod container with a bag of desiccant inside to keep it dry. I also use the toaster oven to pre heat the hard rod I use. The hard rod I use must be...

Thinking to go to propane—what do I need?

It's a 'bottle' not a tank btw. I do believe you have to change the orfices.

Are any of the cheap welders worth their money? Need temporary replacement for Airco DIP-PAK 300 MTS

Keep in mind that all new machines will be solid state IGBT machines, consequently, repairing them for failed components will be out of the realm for the average 'Joe'. Only the very cheapest machines will still be transformer machines as 99% of builder have went IGBT. IGBT machines are often...

Are any of the cheap welders worth their money? Need temporary replacement for Airco DIP-PAK 300 MTS

I much prefer the HF scenario versus the alternative. In 20 minutes I can have a NEW machine if necessary versus playing the return via shipping it somewhere and dealing with a delay. Whatever blows your dress up. In my case I know exactly what blows mine up.

Are any of the cheap welders worth their money? Need temporary replacement for Airco DIP-PAK 300 MTS

Hard to beat ANY IGBT machine today. They are very efficient with electricity usage and most of them are 100% digital readout as well. You really cannot go wrong with any of the HF welders in the mid price range, Titanium or Vulcan. Lots of them online (Amazon) as well but, if you ever have...

Are any of the cheap welders worth their money? Need temporary replacement for Airco DIP-PAK 300 MTS

I have (own) my own machine and fabricating shop and have 2 full time employees as well. A few months ago, I sold my Lincoln Square Wave TIG / SMAW capable machine and my Hyper Therm computer driven plasma unit and purchased a Harbor Freight 45 and 60 amp plasma cutter(s), the 45 amp unit...

    Lincoln 140c flux core problems.

Check the capacitors, I believe you have a bad one.

    Wire advice

Actually used it for spray arc transfer at 215 amps, with 30 CFM of shielding gas.

    Wire advice

Depends on what size spool your machine will accept. I use 10 pound spools on my Hobart but some machines will only take the smaller spools. Industrial machines will accept 50 pound spools. I use INE wire myself on 030 gage.
