    Any Hobart Welder Owners?

Handler 140 that is old, bought it new but it was a long time ago. Converted it to spool gun for field use but have since replaced it out in the field and I'm working at converting it back to the standard torch and make it my in the shop gas shielded machine. Everything I've done outside has...

I wouldn't have even wanted to try, here in SW Texas wood curls, splits, dies on the trip from the store to home.

    Replacement leads for Lincoln 225

I usually buy my cable off of ebay, usually the best prices for the lengths that I want. It's been a while but I think I got my rod holder and ground clamp from Amazon last time I needed one.

Will retire as a CPA in 18 months - always interested in welding

I think if you start off with a MIG and some scrap to practice on you could be doing really well in just a couple of hours. It would really help if you could find someone local that could look at your work and tip you on what you might be doing wrong and right. I can take a new, never welded...

    New old guy

New to the forum but not welding. Currently I run my own steel construction crew building shade structures, raised decks, garages, and small homes. I've done stick but once I touched a MIG I threw the stick away. TIG is on my list to try, all I need to do is retire to get some free time, turning...

    Noob needs help

Agree with the above, I'd run the machine wide open, and heavier wire if you have it. Get a good puddle going and slowly drag it along, you are going to need a lot of heat.

Review: Amico MIG-130A, 130 Amp Flux Wire Welder, 110/230V Dual Voltage. $149 on Amazon.

I bought 5 of the Amico MIG-140GS this year for my crew to use building steel structures. They have been used daily and put through a lot harder use than was probably expected when they were designed. I've had no failures and highly recommend the brand and this model in particular.

Which brand of flux core wire is best?

I do steel construction, shades, garages and homes. INETUB is my go to, and by far the best flux core wire I have found. I would have to look up my orders but my crew and I have probably used well over 150 pounds of the .035 wire this year.
