Coffee Table

Just got a Millermatic 211. I'm new to mig welding. Honestly, I've only stick welded and I'm not very good at it. My first project after getting the 211, was to build a welding cart. As soon as that was done, I decided to build a coffee table for my daughters new house. I've been a woodworker for a long time, but I wanted to incorporate metal into this build. I decided to build a metal base. I didn't take a lot of project pictures, but here are a few.

Interesting project similar in fact to one of my early ones.
I had an avionics shop and we needed technician work benches, (20 yrs ago)!
I used 2 x 2 for legs, 1 x 2 for crosses and lucked out locating new unused melamine desk tops with melamine on both sides.
By the time I had welded up 6 of those electronic work benches I was quite proficient.
(Also a good angle grinder operator).
Oh, we did add under shelves and overhead ones to house all sorts of test gear plus electrical power bars etc.


They stood the tests of time and are still in use to this day.
That welder sure paid for itself many times over.
