Yeah, price was right. About to do something similar for my bench grinder...but maybe 100# or so lighter.

Noted, sorry it impacted you. Yes, 'vise' is the shop tool, not vice.

Outside of American English it is still spelled “vice”. “Vise” is the most common modern day version.

I find the cleanliness of your shop....disturbing.

Also looks like you need to mount a few vises:love:

Well, after amazing reviews by the user of the vise stand (me) I decided to give my consumers the next thing on the list.

Bench grinder stand.

Scrap available.

Cutting it close but it’ll work.

For a new guy on rusty scrap? I’ll take that!

Done, not bad for a morning project while on lockdown.

First off, nice looking, good little project.

Second, I once had a grinder on a small stand like that. BE CAREFUL, it'll tip real easy.

Some concrete will help if it's unstable. This one has concrete filling the 1 ton brake drum and more concrete part way up the 1/4" wall 6x6 tubing. It don't move.20200428_163138.jpg20200428_163143.jpg

Weight helps, on mine, I put a cross bar on the leg and stored my suitcase weights on it, adding a couple hundred pounds.

Very nice indeed. I made a stand using a round piece of 3/8" plate 36" diameter. I welded receiver tube to it facing upwards and reinforced with 3/8" gussets, Made plates for a couple of my vises and one for my ring roller, each with a piece of 2" drawbar on the bottom that drops into the receiver which is also height adjustable by the way. I added threaded holes for bolts to take up the slop. When using the vise or ring roller you are standing on the plate so no movement, very solid. I will put up pics when I can. None of my stuff is painted that pretty though!
